Biography

Rachael E. Bandeira is a litigation attorney with McDermott Law, LLC, specializing in the areas of ERISA disability insurance, insurance bad faith, insurance coverage, insurance recovery, and personal injury. Rachael is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, has been granted Practice Pending Admission status in Colorado and is licensed to practice in United States District Court for Colorado.

Rachael is a 2018 graduate of New England Law | Boston. Prior to law school, she received her Bachelor of Arts in History in 2014 from Oberlin College, where she played varsity soccer and lacrosse.

While attending law school, she was a member of the Law Review and served as Business Managing Editor on the Executive Board during her third year. Her Article "FIFA: For the Game or For-Profit" was published in Volume 51 of the New England Law Review. Rachael was also a competing member of the Regional Mock Trial Team during her second and third year and won the award for "Best Direct Examination" during the Quinnipiac ABA Criminal Justice Advocacy Competition. She was also a member of several athletic leagues, and her team won the intramural basketball championship in her first year. She served as a Class Representative of the Student Bar Association during her second year, and as the Election's Chair during her third year. At graduation, she received the award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement.

Prior to joining McDermott Law, Rachael was an associate at a medical malpractice and healthcare law firm in Boston, Massachusetts, representing hospitals and healthcare providers in a variety of medical claims. She was a member of several professional associations in the Boston area, including the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. She intends to be just as active in the greater Denver area very soon.

When not in the office, Rachael enjoys being as active as possible - including playing soccer and football (or any sport), hiking, running, biking, snowboarding, and swimming. She ran the New York City Marathon in 2019 and completed an Ironman in Cascais, Portugal in 2021, and looks forward to competing more in the near future. She enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends, and visiting her family in California and Portugal when she gets the chance.
