Shawn E. McDermott is an insurance law litigator and personal injury attorney who serves Aurora, Colorado Springs, and the other areas surrounding Denver, Colorado. When not in the office, Shawn enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons. In the summer months he is an avid golfer and fly fisherman; in the winter he enjoys skiing. He looks forward to the day when he can do all three activities with his sons.

As an associate attorney with the Law Office of Shawn E. McDermott, Ms. Petitmermet is dedicated to assisting her clients in their time of need. Ms. Petitmermet has been associated with the firm since 2005. Her primary legal emphasis is in the arenas of disability law, ERISA claims, and PERA. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. Prior to law school, she attended the University of Colorado for three years, and then transferred to the University of Wyoming where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

Ms. Petitmermet is a member of the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Heather is licensed to practice in Colorado state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
When not working, Ms. Petitmermet spends as much time as possible being active in the beautiful Colorado Mountains. She particularly enjoys hiking with her husband and two dogs during the summer months. Her interests also include photography, playing piano, cooking and travel.

MarySue is a legal assistant. Her responsibilities include handling almost any issue you may have with your insurance company. Her responsibilities are to assist the attorneys and the client with the litigation process from the filing of the lawsuit through trial or settlement. She often becomes a primary point of contact for clients to discuss progress of medical treatment and any problems with the payment of medical bills. MarySue is also the person who obtains copies of important documents needed for your case, including medical records, medical bills, insurance policies, police reports, and so forth. She also contacts clients periodically during the course of their medical treatment to help with any questions they have regarding payment of medical bills and submitting billing to the proper insurance company.
Outside of the office, MarySue spends her time running, hiking, horseback riding, and enjoying many other different outdoor activities. MarySue particularly likes taking her two hound dogs to the park. She enjoys traveling to visit her friends and family as well as to different historical points of interest and national parks throughout the country. MarySue has a passion for music and dedicates her time to attend concerts and to play several different instruments.
